Negros Island. The SWEET Spot of the Philippines.

Filipino Delicacy - Biko (Recipe)

The Philippines is an archipelago bounded by

the Pacific Ocean to the east

the Bashi Channel to the north

the Sulu and the Celebes Seas to the south.

You can find us East of Vietnam, North of Indonesia.

The country is divided into the geographical areas of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Its capital, the City of Manila, is in Luzon. You can also enter through the cities of Cebu in the Visayas, and Davao in Mindanao.  Negros Island is its Sweet Spot, being the sugar bowl of the country with its vast sugarcane fields.

Welcome to our isles.

We are made up of 7,107 islands. Some have grown into cities. Some are the epitome of tropical dreams. Some are just long enough to lay down on and get a tan.

Big. Small. Sandy. Sunny. Relaxing. Exotic. Beautiful. Our little clutch of islands make for one long stretch of beach – more than 15,500 kilometers. Here, no one is more than two hours away from a beach-side lounge chair — which explains why everybody knows how to smile and have fun!

Philippines - Where Is It?

MANILA, Philippines - The City of Smiles, Bacolod City, which is known for its famous Masskara Festival recently released a comprehensive guide to its city.  The all-in-one pamphlet and travel guide includes all the necessary tourist information a visitor would need in order to explore and experience the best of Bacolod.

What started out as an idea from the travels of Bacolod City Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, the '50 Things To Do In Bacolod' Guide has been a standout in this week's Asia Premium Travel Mart held from May 26-28, 2015 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, showing other LGUs a quick and easy way to create a compendium of activities in one's locality with the tourist primarily in mind.

The guide was initially created in time for the APEC proceedings in Bacolod early this year and again distributed for participants of the APEC meet in Boracay.

Very well done, Bacolod!

Kudos to the City of Smiles!
